Are bank overdraft fees tax deductible?

If you happen to write a check or swipe your debit card for an amount you currently do not have the funds for, that will result in a bank overdraft fee from your bank. If the transaction was for a personal cause and is unrelated to business dealings, then the fee is not tax deductible on your individual tax return. If the transaction does include business dealings, then when filing for your corporation taxes, a bank overdraft fee would be listed as a business expense, and in that case would make them tax deductible.
